Starting at Goodester:

You could start the process in a number of ways. You could email us at gimshanga@yahoo.com telling us about your child and your expectations, or call us at +255785948485.

Tour:
On the day of your tour, we will give you a full tour of the facility, and sit down and give you time to ask any questions you may have. If you are not familiar with the Montessori Method of education, we will be happy to give you an introduction. We consider it an important part of your child’s success that you understand the Montessori philosophy. It is only then you would fully appreciate and enjoy your child’s learning process.

Your Decision:
You could either make the decision on the day of the tour or take some time to make your decision. Irrespective of when you decide to enroll, you will complete the enrollment form and contract and pay a tuition deposit before the start date. This deposit will be applied to your first month’s tuition. After the tour, we will give you an enrollment packet that will require you to complete information about your child’s dietary restrictions, healthcare, immunization, and emergency contacts. All information and paperwork must be completed before the first day of school attendance.

Visit the Classroom:
We will then schedule a time to visit the child’s classroom and meet the teacher. On this day, you have the opportunity to watch your child from the observation windows. We recommend spending at least an hour on this day at Goodester. We will recheck the paperwork, and make sure all your questions are answered and that you are comfortable with what we offer.

Montessori Advantage

There are many childcare and preschool options in Arusha. For some parents, it is just a place where their child is safe and looked after while they are at work. But some demand more. Justifiably so.

This is an era of information technology. The child who memorized the most number of letters, tables and names is no longer considered smarter. At Goodester, your child does not simply focus on knowledge but also acquires the skills to learn and master the subject of his or her choice. Leave alone leadership, success in today’s world depends on how creatively you could use your skills and knowledge to accomplish tasks.

If you are a parent who cares for your child’s intellectual growth, you are looking at the right place. Goodester caters to those parents who want more than just childcare. More than just a safe place until they pick up the child after work. Goodester offers a safe place for your child to spend the day engaged in meaningful, creative and stimulating activities.

In the early 1900’s, an Italian educator and physician named Dr. Maria Montessori developed a unique method of education-Montessori Method. It is based on an independent style of learning. The Montessori Method is a sensory based education method in which the adults guide the child and the child learns through specially designed materials.

Montessori education offers a self-directed individual learning approach. In other words, the child is free to roam about the environment and choose materials of interest to him or her. The materials are designed to keep the child challenged at many different levels.

By using this “self-directed” individual learning approach, Montessori students are able to teach themselves through critical interaction in a prepared environment. The Montessori materials connect tasks that gradually require higher levels of cognitive thought. The Montessori Method nurtures a task-oriented child who is intrinsically motivated to master these challenging tasks.

The materials themselves are designed with the child’s senses in mind. We are connected to our surrounding environment by our senses. These senses go far beyond what we normally think of as our senses or what we use them on a daily basis. Montessori materials designed around our senses of sight, sound, smell, and touch. In a typical Montessori classroom, the guides inspire the children through one-on-one and also in small groups. When the children are not involved in lessons, they work at their own pace on activities they have chosen and have been presented to. A typical Montessori classroom is buzzing with steady activity. You may see some children working as teams, some children working independently and older children helping the younger children while the Guide (Teacher) presents to small groups in a conference or observes and records the flow of work in the room.

In short, the Montessori education provides the child with a solid foundation of learning that will carry them well into the future. Montessori education offers a lifelong learning experience that will provide a strong foundation. An education that will set the child on a fascinating journey.

Let your child walk out of Goodester day care with a life-long love of learning. Give your child the opportunity to step in to the future with confidence. We will make sure that your confidence in Goodester is well placed.
